Urgent call for donations

Lebanese father of 2 teens rebuilding his business after Beirut explosion has leukemia. Needs Tasigna 150mg for significant chance of recovery. Not available in Lebanon, costs up to €14,000 for 6-month treatment.

Medical Aid Program

We have started our charitable work with funding medicines and medical treatment for those families in need in Lebanon. Caram works with organisations and individual businesses in Portugal and Lebanon to get medicines to communities and families in Lebanon – we connect the medicines with those that need them with no political or religious bias.

To do this, we have established a partner network of pharmacies and community organisations in both countries as a basis for this important social work. In addition to medicines that are donated for this programme by pharmacies in Portugal that have excess medicines that would otherwise go to waste, Caram selectively uses the funds that we raise through the Lebanese community in Portugal to buy specific medicines that are in acute need in Lebanon with.  Working with our trusted charity partners in Lebanon, we deliver the medicines to the families and communities that need it the most.

Get in touch with Monique if you want to be part of the Medical Aid Program team.

Urgent call for donations

A Lebanese man, father of 2 teenage children, trying to rebuild his business following the Beirut explosion, suffers from leukemia. According to Dr. Maroun Sadek, hematologist and oncologist at Hopital Libanais Geitaoui in Lebanon, he has significant chance of recovery if he follows a Tasigna 150mg treatment. The medicine is not available in Lebanon and can cost up to €14,000 for a 6-month treatment.

Caram is currently working on sourcing and funding the medicine to help this father recover and see his children get educated and embark into adulthood. We are therefore making an appeal for donations. You can donate directly on this page with a one-time donation or monthly instalments. Considering the need to act quickly and the amount required we would highly appreciate one-time donations above 200 Euros and monthly instalments above 20Eur.

Caram is directly in contact with the patient who is known to some of our members. We will be delivering the medicine directly, which will allow us to track medicine reception as well as to report to you on regular basis about the health evolution of the patient.

There are thousands of Lebanese who need and deserve help, but with each Lebanese that we help we make a huge impact.
